Meet Our Authors

Rosanne Hawke

Children's and YA

Rosanne is the multi award-winning author of 30 books for children and young adults, with many of her books drawing on 10 years of living in Pakistan as an aid worker. Her books include The Messenger BirdTaj and the Great Camel Trek, and Soraya the Storyteller. She is the 2015 recipient of the Nance Donkin award; an Asialink, Carclew, Varuna and May Gibbs Fellow, and a Bard of Cornwall.

Rosanne was a lecturer in creative writing at Tabor Adelaide and writes in an old Cornish farmhouse with underground rooms near Kapunda. She is also well known for her support and encouragement to existing and aspiring writers.

Nancy Jackson

Local History and Memoir

Nancy Jackson is the author of Photographers, 108 Meditations and other books. She has worked in publishing and business communications, and teaches meditation and yoga. Born in the United States, she lives in South Australia. While renovating a nineteenth-century property for retreats, she discovered the rich history of South Australia.

Jeff Noble

Local History

Jeff Noble is a retired pastor with an interest in local history, especially that of his hometown of Peterborough, South Australia. Jeff and Wendy now live in Gawler, but he loves returning to Peterborough at any opportunity. Jeff looks after the website lionelnoble.com which is a collection of his father Lionel’s photographic record of Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

Wendy Noble

Fantasy

Wendy Noble has an Advanced Diploma of Education, a Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing, but can’t remember her own phone number. She has been a primary school teacher, a librarian in a Theological College, has sold women’s fashion and has sung folk music in country pubs. Wendy and her husband live in Gawler, South Australia.

Heather Thoday

Family History

Heather has had long experience as a teacher and educator. She has worked in university, adult education, community education, and in junior primary and early years in schools and kindergartens. Her workplaces ranged from inner-city Melbourne to regional South Australia as well as suburban Adelaide.

Heather has a strong academic background grounded in practice with an early childhood teaching degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Australian Literature, a Graduate Diploma in Librarianship and a Doctor of Philosophy in Australian Cultural Studies.
